About Us
At The Wishing Book Company, we create meaningful publications that preserve stories, inspire readers and connect generations. What began with children’s books has grown into a custom publishing studio working with Buddhist temples, organisations and individuals to bring important ideas, teachings and legacies into print. From concept development and storytelling to design, production and publishing, we work closely with every client to shape each publication around its purpose, audience and vision, helping turn meaningful ideas into beautifully crafted books made to be remembered.
Publishing is more than producing a book. It is about giving meaningful stories a lasting form.

Our Mission
To create meaningful publications that help preserve stories, share wisdom and make important teachings more accessible and engaging for today’s readers.

Our Vision
To kindle a lifelong love for books while making wisdom, compassion and creativity more accessible to readers of all ages and communities.

Our Promise
We approach every publication with care, creativity and respect, bringing together the right expertise to create work that reflects each client’s purpose and vision.

Our Belief
We believe a book can do more than tell a story. It can preserve heritage, pass on wisdom, inspire curiosity and become a lasting legacy for future generations.
Our Founding Story
It all started with 'Mummy, why can't
we create our own storybook?'...
Inspired by her two daughters, Apple Sophia Lim founded The Wishing Book Company (TWBC) in 2020 to create children’s books that were fun, interactive, and heart-warming. During the pandemic, Apple wrote stories that brought joy and imagination into her home, often shaped by her daughters’ ideas. This journey led to the publication of the first book, Make a Wish for a Unicorn, in late 2020.
As the stories reached readers beyond her family, Apple went on to publish five picture books and is preparing to release a sixth title, Make a Wish for a Reindeer, continuing the Make a Wish for a Book series.
TWBC’s direction evolved when a Buddhist temple, Wat Ananda Metyarama, invited Apple to create a children’s book for its community. Through this collaboration, Apple observed a clear need for engaging, child-friendly Buddhist stories and accessible temple publications. TWBC began developing bespoke books for temples, including commemorative titles, visitor guides, and picture books that present teachings with clarity, warmth, and modern design.
Today, TWBC specialises in custom Buddhist publications. We work closely with temples to preserve sacred teachings, celebrate heritage, and inspire future generations. Alongside new works, we also manage high-quality reprints of past temple publications so that meaningful books remain available for devotees and young readers.
Through every chapter of our story, we remain committed to crafting beautiful, high-quality books with engaging stories that touch hearts and minds, creating lasting legacies for families, organisations, and spiritual communities.
